These terms apply to product information, enquiries and order requests made through the Oak & Alba website. A website submission is an order request only. Final specification, price, availability, lead time, delivery arrangements and payment terms are confirmed by Oak & Alba before a binding order is accepted.
Submitting a configuration, enquiry or order request does not by itself create a binding contract and no payment is taken at that stage. Oak & Alba will review the requested specification and contact you to confirm the final details. A contract is formed only when Oak & Alba has expressly accepted the order and the agreed payment arrangements have been completed or confirmed.
Oak & Alba products are handmade. Published dimensions are intended to describe the finished product and normal manufacturing tolerances apply. Bespoke or made-to-measure dimensions must be confirmed in writing before manufacture begins. Product images are representative; bedding, room styling and accessories are not included unless specifically stated.
Timber is a natural material. Grain, knots, figuring, tone, colour, small checks and seasonal movement vary from piece to piece and are not, by themselves, defects. Product photographs, rendered images and finish swatches are representative only: lighting, screen settings, timber grain and the way natural oils or waxes absorb can all affect perceived colour. Exact colour, grain pattern or tonal matching to an online image cannot be guaranteed. These normal natural variations are part of the character of real timber and are not treated as faults. Finish names such as Light Oak, Grey Oak and Golden Oak describe appearance and do not necessarily identify the timber species. Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, the Oak & Alba bed collection is manufactured primarily from carefully selected solid pine. Finish names such as Oak and Walnut describe the colour, tone and character of the applied finish and do not mean that the underlying timber species is oak or walnut. Genuine oak or alternative timber species may be available by special request at an additional cost.
Website prices are indicative until the complete specification is confirmed. Any options, bespoke work, installation or exceptional delivery requirements will be confirmed before payment is requested. Selected bedroom furniture may have a preferential bundle price when purchased with an Oak & Alba bed; standalone pricing may differ.
Typical production lead time is currently 2–4 weeks. This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed completion date. The current production window will be confirmed before payment is requested, and Oak & Alba will contact you if a material delay becomes apparent.
Free standard delivery is currently offered to eligible addresses within the United Kingdom. Delivery outside the UK is not included in the promotion and will be quoted separately. Remote, offshore or unusually difficult-to-access UK locations may require an additional delivery arrangement or charge, which will be confirmed before the order is accepted.
Where installation is offered, eligibility depends on the delivery postcode, access and site conditions. The website currently checks the standard Oak & Alba installation service against eligible AB postcodes. Any installation charge shown during configuration is added to the order total before confirmation. Customers must provide safe, reasonable access and a suitable area for installation.
You are responsible for checking that the ordered product can be safely brought into the property and positioned in the intended room. Please tell Oak & Alba before confirmation about restricted access, narrow stairs, parking limitations or other conditions likely to affect delivery. Risk in the goods passes in accordance with applicable consumer law and the agreed delivery arrangements.
Most Oak & Alba beds and furniture are made to order after the customer has selected the required size, finish, inlay, lighting and/or other configuration. Where goods are made to the customer's specifications or are clearly personalised, the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right for distance sales may not apply. Once manufacture has started, Oak & Alba does not accept cancellation or change-of-mind returns for those made-to-order or customised goods except where required by law. Please contact Oak & Alba immediately if you believe an order has been placed incorrectly; if manufacture has not started, we will confirm whether a change can still be accommodated. Nothing in this clause removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Please inspect the goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery. Visible transit damage, missing parts or obvious delivery damage should be reported to Oak & Alba within 24 hours of delivery wherever reasonably possible, together with clear photographic evidence of the packaging, the affected area and the product as delivered. Prompt reporting helps us establish what happened and arrange a practical remedy quickly.
Where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fail to meet your statutory rights, Oak & Alba will deal with the issue in accordance with applicable consumer law. Depending on the circumstances and the remedy available by law, this may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. Oak & Alba will normally seek to repair a genuine manufacturing or transit issue where that is an appropriate lawful remedy. A request for photographs or a 24-hour damage report does not remove statutory rights where the law provides a longer period or a different remedy.
Except where required by law, Oak & Alba does not accept returns simply because a customer has changed their mind, ordered the wrong size or specification, or is unhappy with normal variations in the appearance, grain or colour of natural timber. In particular, made-to-order, bespoke, customised or clearly personalised goods are not accepted for change-of-mind return where the statutory exemption applies.
If a product is not made to the customer's specification and a statutory distance-selling cancellation right applies, the customer must notify Oak & Alba within the applicable cancellation period. Unless Oak & Alba agrees otherwise or the goods are faulty, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, including any specialist carrier needed because of the size or nature of the product. Goods must not be returned without first contacting Oak & Alba for return instructions.
Where goods are faulty or damaged and consumer law requires Oak & Alba to bear collection or return costs, Oak & Alba will do so. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory right to reject goods, obtain a repair or replacement, receive a price reduction or obtain a refund where that right applies.
Natural timber should be kept in a normally heated and ventilated interior environment and protected from excessive moisture, heat and prolonged direct exposure that may affect the finish. Oak & Alba is not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable third-party alterations, incorrect reassembly, inappropriate wall fixings or misuse after delivery, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
We take reasonable care to keep product information accurate, but specifications, availability and pricing may be updated as products develop. If an obvious error affects an order request, Oak & Alba will explain the correction before asking you to proceed.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights and remedies that cannot be excluded under consumer law.
